時雨之名
根據舊日本海軍的艦船命名慣例，驅逐艦的命名一般採用自然氣象之類的名字。
「時雨」在日語中的意思即為「深秋至初冬之間，偶然落下、忽降忽止的瀝瀝小雨」。「時雨」一詞，在俳句中作為冬季的季語使用；同時也是日本舊曆十月的其中一種別稱。
在日本被稱為「俳聖」的俳諧師松尾芭蕉，也偏好在日本舊曆十月十二以季語「時雨」來寫作。松尾芭蕉的忌日亦為同日（日本舊曆十月十二），該日也被稱為「時雨忌」。

忠犬
二改之後，和夕立一樣有著像獸耳一樣的頭髮，實際上畫師就是同一位啊。據人設擔當的畫師表示，獸耳頭髮是為了讓性格溫順的時雨表現出「忠犬」的樣子，與被譽為「狂犬」的夕立戰意昂揚的樣子相對。

夕時雨・ゆうしぐ
因為和夕立同屬於白露級驅逐艦，由同一畫師擔當人設，而且同樣開放了二改。加上二改之後有著相同的像獸耳一樣的頭髮，畫師本人亦繪製成相對的存在（忠犬與狂犬）。因此在不少同人作品中被描繪成一對CP，也一起登上過雜誌的封面。在pixiv的tag為「夕時雨」，Nico靜上為「ゆうしぐ」
但史實上時雨是和白露同屬27驅，而夕立和其他前期白露型組成2驅，並沒有什麼交集。
